Friendsgiving is one of my favorite nights of the year. It has all the food of Thanksgiving but none of the judgmental comments from family members or uncomfortable political discussions. No really, my family Thanksgiving is actually really fun, but Friendsgiving is even better. So if you don’t celebrate it, you should definitely start. And if you need a really simple decor idea, I’ve got you covered.
DIY Glittery Friendsgiving Banner – what you need:
- gold glitter foam board
- scissors
- gold yarn or twine
- embroidery needle
Start by cutting your foam board into 13 rectangles that are the same size. Then cut out letters from each of those rectangles to spell out FRIENDSGIVING. I just eyeballed these but stencils would definitely make it easier. Once you have all the letters cut out, it’s time to string them together with some equally glittery yarn.
Cut a strand of yarn that is about as long as the area where you want to display your banner. Then string that yarn through each of the letters, attaching it twice to the top of each one as shown. When all of the letters are strung together, tie both ends of the banner to a window shade or some hooks. It makes a really great background for photos, and who couldn’t use some more glitter at their parties, you know?
