Felt Pizza Pennant

pizza pennant diy

Is there anything in this world that’s greater than pizza? Didn’t think so. I’ve already done quite a few pizza themed DIY projects for this blog, but I’m not done yet. Not even close. Here’s a fun little project that only requires a few materials and would definitely look great in a kitchen or basically wherever.

DIY Felt Pizza Pennant – what you need:

  • felt in various colors (tan, yellow, and red)
  • scissors
  • hot glue

Step 1: Create the base

The first part of this project requires creating the actual pennant shape. To do so, just cut an elongated triangle shape out of a piece of yellow felt. Then you’ll want to add some “sauce,” a.k.a. one strip of red felt with uneven edges, and a “crust,” a.k.a. a strip of tan felt with fairly even edges. Use the photo above as a guide. Glue the tan strip to the red strip and glue the red strip to the yellow triangle so that they are just overlapping.

Step 2: Cut out the letters

Now it’s time to add the toppings a.k.a. letters. To do this, take a piece of red felt and cut out a triangle that’s just a bit smaller than the yellow one. Cut the red triangle into five strips that go from the widest part of the triangle to the point at the end. Cut a “P” out of the longest strip, an “I” out of the second longest, and so on. Once you have your letters cut out, they should look similar to the ones in the photo above.

Step 3: Put it all together

Use hot glue to attach each of the letters to the yellow felt. Let it dry. And you should have yourself a pizza pennant! Hang it up using some clothespins and show off your pizza pride to anyone who enters your home!
