Easter dresses get a lot of attention this time of year. But what about easter footwear? Never heard of such a thing? Me either. Let’s change that, shall we?
DIY Embroidered Bunny Shoes – what you need:
- plain flat loafers (preferably in a fun color)
- gray embroidery thread
- embroidery needle
- piece of cardboard
I don’t have a pattern or detailed instructions for these, but the idea is pretty simple. You just embroider really basic bunny facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, ears, whiskers) onto the tops of loafers. Embroidering shoes can be a little more challenging than embroidering regular fabric because shoes are so much thicker. So I’d recommend using a piece of cardboard or book or something to sort of push the needle through. Otherwise your fingers are going to hate you. You can use my bunny shoes as a guide or just completely make your own design.
And of course, these don’t have to just be for easter. In fact, if you go with pink loafers like mine then they kind of look like subtle versions of pink bunny slippers and I am a fan.
