Ever wanted to sit and enjoy a cold Duff beer with Homer and the guys at Moe’s? Well, I can’t really help you there. But if you just want to make your regular beer look more like a Duff beer, you’re in luck.

DIY Duff Beer Cozy – what you need:

• felt in various colors: red, white, tan
• hot glue
• needle and thread
• black marker

Step 1: Cut the felt pieces

For the main part of this cozy you’ll need a few pieces of felt – a white rectangle (long enough to go around a beer can or bottle), a smaller red rectangle, a long tan triangle, and then a very small white rectangle/almost-square. Use the photos above as a guide or even just google photos of Duff beer cans – there are lots of examples!

Step 2: Glue the main pieces together

Then you’ll need to arrange the pieces on top of one another. The white rectangle should go on the bottom, then the red, then the tan slightly overlapping the red, and finally the small white piece just under the point of the triangle. Again, use the photos as a guide. Use hot glue to secure them (or you can stitch them if you’re feeling really ambitious).

Step 3: Add the lettering

Use a black marker to add “Duff” to the small piece of white felt and “BEER” just below it. Now that I’ve completed this project I actually think it would look really cool to embroider the letters on. But this method is certainly much easier.

Step 4: Stitch it up

Then you’ll need to use a needle and piece of white thread to stitch the ends of the large white piece of felt together so that it will fit securely around a beer can or bottle. And add a little circle of white felt to the bottom as well.

That’s all there is to it! Now enjoy making every beer into a Duff beer. OR maybe use this as part of a Simpsons themed Halloween costume??
