Happy New Year’s Eve! If you’re still looking for a good wintery-type cocktail to serve tonight, I’ve got you covered. I’m still quite the drink-making novice, but I served this one at a recent holiday party and it went over pretty well. Plus, it’s fairly simple so you probably already have most of the ingredients!
Pear Cinnamon Cider Cocktail – ingredients:
- 1 pear, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bottle sparkling cider
- bourbon whiskey
- extra pear slices for garnish
Step 1: Make the pear syrup
Add the water, sugar, and cinnamon to a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add the pear slices and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the burner and let the pear sit in the mixture for about a half hour.
Step 2: Mix the other ingredients
When the syrup is done, you need to remove the cinnamon and pear slices. Then it’s time to mix it with the other ingredients. In a glass or flute, add 1/4 cup of the pear syrup, 3/4 cup of sparkling cider, and a shot of bourbon whiskey. Stir.
Step 3: Serve
Add a couple of small pear slices to each glass for garnish. Serve and enjoy!
